Physical Therapy Institute Joins Forces With Pain Management Consultants - May 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Physical Therapy Institute, owned and operated by Dr. Ira Feibert, renown Professor of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and Linda Zane, Administrative Chief of the Florida Corporation, have signed on to provide therapy to patients of the medical practice who therapy is indicated for.

Dr. Berger has always maintained the importance in providing patients the widest array of services that can work in synergy with pain therapy. "In this instance, studies clearly show the long term benefits patients achieve if they combine multi-modal treatments, rather than just get injections, without addressing the underlying mechanical causes of the problem." Dr. Berger has worked closely with physical therapists in the past, when he was the Chairman of the Governing Board of Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital, in Delray Beach, Florida.

Dr. Feibert has stated that the patients of the practice do present a clear challenge to the therapists, due to a multitude of factors, but the PTI was up tot the task, so to speak.

Thus far, results are encouraging, and protocols are in works, which would lead to clear pathways which the doctors would follow, which would lead to improved outcomes, and cost reduction, for all parties involved: patient, physician, and insurance carrier. Results of these preliminary data will be featured in an upcoming segment.
